L.A. Colors Color Balm Review!

Hello! Its been a while since my last post but since I'm new to all this I was kind of looking for a way to organize myself and get on a schedule.  I'm still working on it but I did want to review these L.A Colors Color Balm that I got from the Dollar Tree.  These are exactly what they are called colored lip balms L.A Colors have six different shades and this is what the packaging looks like when you take them out of the individually wrapped package.

I decided to swatch them so you can get an idea of the amount of color they give off.  The picture above is lined up in the same order as the picture below.  I have already used all of the colors and I will say I like how they feel on the lips its goes on really smooth and makes your lips feel soft and not sticky like lip gloss.  I don't know why I was expecting them to be sticky haha.  Out of the six colors I will probably only repurchase the last four colors and they are called Wham!, Zap, Boom, and Ka-pow! I feel like on me they were the better looking colors.  Smooch was too pink it didn't really blend in well and it seemed chalky.  Swoon for me was way too nude or too light it was just a really bad color.

So as a whole I'd give them a 9 out of 10.  I think they are super moisturizing they smell kind of sweet but not too sweet that it makes you not want to wear it.  The only bad thing I can say about them is that the first two colors didn't look the way I'd hoped and its really just my opinion maybe someone else will like the way Smooch and Swoon looks on them.  If you happen to find these at your Dollar Tree do give them a try for $1 I think its a good buy and if you do pick them up feel free to let me know what you thought of them.

Thanks for stopping by later love bugs!

Hot oil treatment from dollar tree review!!

Alright it's time to put this to the test...will it work or make my hair fall off?? Let's see fingers crossed!  I mentioned this in a previous post I found this at a dollar tree and I wanted to give it a shot to see if it was worth buying.  Here's what the box looks like so if you want to go pick this up you know what your looking for.

The box comes with two tubes and this is what they look like.  This is a weekly hot oil treatment so if you have short hair I'm sure you could just use one tube but I have long hair so I decided to use both of them.

Alright let's get started!  First you'll need to boil some water. Bam I got water boiling!!

While the water was heating up I went ahead and started brushing my hair.  I couldn't take a picture where my face wasn't awkward looking but you get the idea just brush your hair.

Then the box says to use the treatment on wet hair so after brushing my hair I wet it and went over it again to make sure it wasn't tangled.

Alright at this point your water should be boiling and ready to use.  Find a heat resistant cup glass thing I'm using a mason jar.  Pour the water into the cup or jar and fill to the top but leave some room because when you dunk the tubes in you don't want the water to spill over.  Let the tubes sit in the water for a minute or two I left mines in for two minutes because I used both tubes.

I couldn't take a picture of me putting the oil in my hair but after the you let the tubes sit in the water take them out and cut the ends off.  Test some on your hand to make sure it won't burn your scalp.  I started at my roots and worked my way down to the ends working all that product into my hair.  Then I just wrapped my hair up in a bun.  The box says to leave in for one minute but I don't listen and I left it in for two.

Next the box says to rinse and shampoo as you normally would.  This is what I'm using this month so I jumped in the shower hoping my hair wouldn't fall off at this point haha.

Tada!!!! My hair didn't fall off!! Sucess!! When I finished washing hair I brushed it and let it air dry.  Here's what it looks like two hours later no products in it.

I will continue to use this for a month to really see if it works but for the first try I did see less frizz then I would with a regular shampoo and conditioner and its softer too.  I want to give it a four week run to see if my hair improves even more over time.  But as of now I'm definitely happy with the price and results I just hope it's something dollar tree will continue to carry.

Until next time love bugs.

Doggie toys, grooming tools, and books?

So today I felt like going out to do some shopping for my boys (3 husky pups)  I have a Walmart and a Petco near my house so I spent like half my day looking around and reading some of the books Petco had. I ended up getting some toys and basic grooming tools for them and some books and magazines on Siberian Huskies. Let's get to it!

First up the brushes!  If anyone owns a husky or knows someone with a husky then you know how important it is to brush your dog.  My boys have hair for days I tell you! I'm sure if I had just one it be way less hair but I don't I have three because before getting them I had no idea what it meant to be a husky owner. Now ohhh man I know hah but I love them so it's okay I'll live with the hair.  I got the de-shedder and the slicker brush at Walmart.  One of them was like $3 and the other one was about $5.  I got two of each so my mom could brush one dog while I bush the other or just incase I loose one I have a back up.

On the the toys!  I also got these at Walmart for less then $10 each.  My pups love to chew on everything they can find it doesn't matter if it's the corner of my bed or my work shoes if it fits in their mouth its getting chewed on.  So I got them two tires with a pull thingy attached to it they love playing together and pulling on whatever the other one has so this will be fun for them and entertaining for me to watch.  The next thing I got was Nylabone Essentials toy it says on the side of it that its for powerful chewers and my boys are powerful chewers so I got one for each of them.  I've never bought this for them before so I'm curious to see how long it take them to destroy it.

Lastly I went to Petco looking for something super hard for them to chew on but that if they break it and swallow some of it I wouldn't have to worry.  I didn't find anything like that but I did find this large tennis ball that felt stronger then the regular ones so I had to grab it.  One of my pups loves loves loves any kind of bouncy balls but they're so small we loose them quickly.  Hopefully this one because it's bigger we'll be able to keep better track of.  The next thing I got was a book and two magazines on Siberian huskies like I mentioned before I did not know what having a husky was like before I got them about a year ago and at that I decided on getting three instead of one.  I figured reading up on this dog breed will answer a lot of my questions and help me figure out how to raise my pups in the best way so that they'll grow up in a happy and understanding environment.  It's way too easy to get frustrated with this kind of dog at least for me it was.  I didn't know they were high energy dogs I didn't know they were escape artist.  I basically only knew that they were cute and that I wasted one but now that I have them and see how they are I figured I'd start educating myself to be a better doggie mom.

And that wraps it up for today love bugs.

Dollar tree mini grabs...

Today I was feeling a little frustrated with boring old work stuff.  You know we all have them days right so after work I decided to hit up dollar tree and release some stress. Unfortunately I only found five things worth getting today here's what I got...

I grabbed two L.A colors color balm that I've never seen before and I love me some new lip balms so I had to grab the two colors that I'd actually wear.  The pink color is called Smooch #BLC640 and the nude color is called Swoon #BLC639.  I did already try these out and maybe soon I'll post something in more detail about them or maybe I'll get few more colors to try out.  The colors on these two were exactly what I expected! Yay!! They are moisturizing and conditioning to the lips and as a plus the Swoon color kind of has a hint of coconut scent to it. Loved it! The next thing I got I haven't tried yet it was my first time seeing this in the store so I got two.  A girl can never have too many hair treatments.  I will have to update you in a near future on how that goes for me.  Finally the last thing is the acne treatment body wash.  This I have tried before I've been using it for a month now once a day everyday and I've seen the acne on my body disappearing and I don't feel like I'm killing my skin while trying to clear it up.  It does sometime leave my skin a little dry but I just use lotion right after the body wash and I'm good to go.  Well that was it for my dollar tree mini grabs and my rambling until next time love bugs!

Happy ending...

Today has got to be one of the best days of my life!  On June 2 my mother was having sugery, I was with her in the hospital overnight and someone in my neighborhood contacted me and told me my 3 husky puppies had escaped.  I was stuck in the hospital it was 11 pm and I had no way of getting home to look for my dogs.  The next day I went home with my mom fresh out of surgery and started to call all the animals shelters, hospitals, anything I could think of I was going insane trying to find my dogs.  I called ACCT philly and filed 3 lost reports gave a description of my dogs and the nice lady did a quick walk thru to see if any huskies came in.  She came back to the phone and said two huskies came in and she thinks they matched the descriptions I gave her for two of the dogs.  I went down to ACCT philly did the walk thru and saw my two babies in cages next to each other.  My babies were so happy to see me and I immediately said these are my babies I need my babies haha.  I did all the paperwork work and all that good stuff to be able to take my pups home but I was still missing my third baby.  As the days went by I would go out every day to look for him I was actively posting his picture and information online hoping that someone would see him.  Long story short or kind of short 13 days later a very nice messaged me on Facebook she had seen my post and wanted to know if my dog was still missing I told her it was and I sent her more pictures of him.  She sends me pictures of the husky she had found and and it was my baby!!! We met up and I got my pup back and my family was complete and a little piece of my heart was returned to me. Happy endings do happen and can we still find good people in this world who do the right thing. Here's a picture of the gang!
